Bus Éireann Announces Revisions to Route 115 Mullingar-Dublin service

As part of an ongoing review of public transport services in the Greater Dublin Area undertaken by the National Transport Authority, Bus Eireann will introduce a revised Route 115/115A, Dublin – Kilcock – Enfield – Mullingar service with effect from Sunday, 25 August 2013.

This revised bus timetable is designed to integrate with rail services along the Mullingar – Dublin Corridor.  Combined with the rail timetable, it will provide six peak hour weekday departures from Mullingar to Dublin and return (3 Rail & 3 Bus) and an hourly service off peak (2 hourly Bus & 2 hourly Rail).
Enhancements to the bus timetable will also include:

  • Improved clock face frequency timetable
  • 3 peak hour bus departures in each direction
  • Later bus departures from Dublin to Mullingar
  • Increased level of bus services to Kilcock, Enfield and Summerhill

Increased level of bus services at weekends
In addition to the above the following service changes will also occur:

The early morning limited stop departure from Mullingar will now depart at 0610 and operate via the M4 motorway from Enfield to Dublin arriving in Dublin at approximately 0735. Due to long-term Luas construction works in the Westmoreland Street and St Stephen’s Green area, all Route 115 services will terminate at Busáras, Dublin city.

Customers should note that Route 118, Dublin – Ballivor – Mullingar will be cancelled from Sunday, 25 August and will be replaced by the Route 115A service, which will now operate via the N4 and Kilcock instead of via the N3 and Dunboyne.

The Route 115 service will no longer operate between Longford and Mullingar. Customers travelling between Longford and Mullingar can avail of our Expressway Route 22, Ballina-Longford- Mullingar- Dublin Airport- Dublin city service and our Route 23, Sligo- Longford-Mullingar- Dublin Airport-Dublin city service.

Bus Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority are currently rolling out Leap card services in the Greater Dublin Area. The Leap card services will be available shortly on the Route 115 and Route 155A services.
