Sligo Fleadh sponsor Bus Éireann announce a host of extra services to the famous trad music event

Sligo will soon be tapping to the tunes of the famous All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, and sponsor Bus Éireann are at hand with extra special event local services for the famous festival.

Along with our regular Expressway services to Sligo, Bus Éireann have also increased services from Ireland West Airport Knock, Bundoran in Donegal, Strandhill and Rosses Point to Sligo town.

Extra services will also be operated from from Ballymote, Riverstown and Drumfin, into the heart of the action on the streets of Sligo.

These extra local evening services will operate from Thursday, 14 August to Monday, 18 August next. These are a great alternative to taking the car, to one of the most popular and busy events in the Sligo social calendar.

The Sligo to Ballymote/Riverstown Route will service Ballisodare, Collooney, Ballymote, Riverstown and Drumfin. There will be three daily services from Sligo at 1530, 2030 and 2215. Departures from Ballymote into Sligo will be at 1605, 2105 and 2250. Riverstown to Sligo will depart at 1625, 2125 and 2310. Day Returns from Riverstown to Sligo are €9.90 for an Adult and €6.50 for an under 16. Day returns from Ballymote to Sligo are €7.50 for an Adult and €6 for an under 16.

The Sligo to Strandhill service includes stops at Markievicz Road, Knappagh Road, Mannionstown and Strandhill. Evening services from Strandhill to Sligo will depart at 1740, 1830, 1950, 2120, 2205 and 2250. Evening services returning from Sligo to Strandhill will depart at 1720, 1810, 1930, 2100, 2145 and 2230. Day Return fares from Strandhill to Sligo are just €5 for an Adult return and €4.60 for an under 16 fare.

Sligo to Rosses Point will have seven extra services available daily from 14-18 August inclusive. These will stop en route at Markievicz Road, Hollymount and Ballincar. Evening services from Rosses Point to Sligo bus station will depart at 1700, 1740, 1830, 1950, 2120, 2205 and 2250. Evening services will depart from Sligo returning to Rosses Point at 1640, 1720, 1805, 1930, 2015, 2145 and 2230. Day Return fares are just €5 for an Adult return and €4.60 for an under 16.

Extra services from Ireland West Airport Knock will depart daily – from 14 August to 18 August  – at 1340 and 1745. Extra buses from Sligo town to Knock Airport will depart at 1200 and 1600, during the same five day period. The Adult return fare from Knock Airport to Sligo is €16.50. These will service Ballisodare, Collooney, Ballinacarrow, Tubbercurry, Curry, and Charlestown en route.

Those based in Bundoran will also be able to avail of three extra daily return services to Sligo, from from 14 August to 18 August  next. Bundoran East End and West End, along with Cliffoney, Grange & Drumcliffe will all be served on this route.

Extra daily services from Bundoran East End (opposite Scenic View B&B)  to Sligo will depart at 1800, 2025 and 2140. Evening services from Sligo bus station returning to Bundoran will depart at 1710, 1905 and 2100. Adult Day Return fares from Bundoran to Sligo are just €11 for an adult and €7.50 for an under 16 fare. Adult day Return to Sligo from Cliffoney is just €7.50 and travelling from Grange it is €6.50

Passengers wishing to travel from Sligo to Tubbercurry for the Old Fair Day on Wednesday, 13 August, can avail of a day return ticket of €10.50 for Adults and €7 for under 16’s. Buses will depart from Sligo Bus Station to Tubbercurry at 0800, 1000, 1200 and 1400. Evening services will depart Tubbercurry returning to Sligo at 1808 and 2003 at our temporary bus stop from behind SuperValu on the by-pass.
