Shuttle it to the Galway Races in Style

The 2016 Galway Racing Festival kicks off at Ballybrit next Monday and Bus Éireann are back with a Special Shuttle Service to and from the racecourse, throughout the week long event.

The direct service, which will run from the heart of the city at Eyre Square to Ballybrit Racecourse and back, starts on Monday, 25 July and operates through to Sunday, 31 July 2016. 
For the evening race meetings on Monday, Tuesday and Friday next, buses will depart from 15.00 at Eyre Square West to Ballybrit – every 15 minutes – up until 17.00. Buses will depart from the racecourse on demand, up until 21.30.
On Wednesday, 27 July, Thursday, 28 July, Saturday, 23 July and Sunday, 24 July shuttles will depart Eyre Square West from 11.00 until 16.00 every 15 minutes or as required, and will return after the second last race, up until 20.30. All buses will be routed through the tunnel entrance, dropping customers off within 50 yards of the buzzing Ballybrit course.

Adult tickets for the Bus Éireann Special Shuttle Service are priced at €6 single, and €9 return. Tickets for children are priced at €3 single and €5 return. No reservations are necessary, just pay on the day. 
Customers should be aware that all city services will operate as normal during the Racing festival with the exception of Route 403 and Route 409, which will terminate at Briarhill Junction on the following dates/times: 
  • Between 15.00 and 17.00 on 25 and 26 July
  • Between 12.30 and 16.00 on 27 July
  • Between 11.30 and 15.30 on 28 July
  • Between 16.00 and 18.00 on 29 July
On 30 and 31 the 17.45 from Galway to Castlerea (Route 429) will be deferred to 18.00. The 16.25 Galway to Longford service (Route 425) will be deferred to depart at 17.15.
