Bus Éireann to provide Park & Ride services and €10 Special Christmas Fares for Galway customers

Enjoy the festivities in Galway City this Christmas with Bus Éireann with a park and ride service at Ballybrit Racecourse as well our special seasonal fares on scheduled services– only €10 day return on our Galway commuter services. 

Why not avoid the stress of traffic congestion and relax on Bus Éireann’s comfortable Expressway and Commuter coaches, whilst saving money on petrol and parking in the city.

Bus Éireann will be providing special Christmas fares of only €10 for customers travelling on routes serving Tuam, Gort, Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Headford, Cong, Clifden, Mountbellew, Lettermullen and Carraroe. This special offer is running until 24 December inclusive.

Adults can avail of a €10 Day Return Fare, with children under sixteen travelling for €5 Day Return from East, South and West Galway to Galway city. 

These fares are available on a number of Bus Éireann local and Expressway routes:

  • Expressway routes 64 and 52 from Tuam
  • Expressway route 51 and local route 434 from Gort
  • Expressway routes 20 and X20 from Loughrea
  • Expressway routes 20 and X20 from Ballinsloe
  • Local routes 432 and 456 from Cong
  • Local routes 432 and 456 from Headford
  • Local route 419 from Clifden
  • Local route 350 from Kinvara
  • Local routes 425 and 425A from Mountbellew
  • Local route 424 from Lettermullen
  • Local route 424 from Carraroe

Park & Ride

The annual Park & Ride Christmas Service commenced on Saturday, 2 December and will operate from Thursday, 7 December to Sunday, 10 December 2017. Thereafter the service will operate daily from 14 December until Christmas Eve. Return tickets cost €2 per person with children travelling for free, all-day parking at Ballybrit is free of charge.

The Service will operate from the Ballybrit Racecourse to the City Centre from 09.30 to 21.30 on each day of operation (11.00 to 19.00 on Sundays).  Buses will run every 15 minutes in both directions between the Racecourse  and the Coach Station at Fairgreen.
