Company Statement: Bus Éireann appoint new Chief People Officer

Sinéad Kilkelly will join Bus Éireann at the end of August to take up the role of Chief People Officer, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. The position of Chief People Officer is a newly established and critical role to implement the ongoing transformation plan. She will be responsible for managing the company’s resourcing strategy and to ensure the capabilities, culture and engagement of staff are matched to the needs of the business for the future.

Sinéad has an excellent track record in leading change, strategy and operational delivery across multiple industry sectors including aviation, financial services, technology and emergency services.  She joins Bus Éireann after nine years at Etihad Aviation Group in Abu Dhabi, where she held the post of Vice President People Services.  In this role Sinéad led a series of major international organizational change programs in addition to her responsibility for HR strategy and performance, HR technology, HR services, recruitment and people analytics for the Etihad Group of 25,000 employees.

Prior to Etihad, Sinéad’s HR experience included positions within RBS - where she was EMEA HR integration program manager - Ulster Bank Group and Intel Ireland.  She previously lived in Australia where she worked for the CFA emergency services in Victoria.

Sinead holds an MBA from Trinity College Dublin and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
