Bus Eireann Service Update 8th Jan 2010 22.00hrs

Subject to road and weather conditions, Bus Eireann will endeavour to operate as many services as possible in the east of the country this evening.

The vast majority of services in the east of the country are currently operating with some delays. Some local services operating on secondary roads are disrupted.

Last 101 from Dublin at 2340 is bring operated slightly later by the 2340 100x from Wilton terrace.

The 100x service will serve busaras and operate the 101 diversion through the tunnel and 101 route through Balbriggan to Drogheda.

Route 101 Dublin Drogheda operating okay and all evening services expected to operate, but service still diverted through tunnel due to road conditions in Santry.

100X and 177 evening services all expected to operate.

70 Dundalk Athlone student Sunday service will not operate this Sunday.

The 2130 109 service to kells has been cancelled

The 2230 service to kells will operate.

Expressway

The 2000 service to waterford and the 2030 service to clonmel is cancelled

All other Expressway services are operating, approx 30 minute delays are being experienced on services operating into Dublin. Most service are departing Busaras on time.

Commuter

The 2130 service to Edenderry is cancelled.

All other services are departing Dublin on time yet delays are being experienced along the routes.

All nightrider services are currently scheduled to operate.

Kerry Update 1700hrs

Route 40: The Tralee/Cork services continue to operate via Ballyvourney. (They will not operate via Millstreet and Rathmore due to poor road conditions and will use Ballyvourney/County Bounds Road instead). This alteration will probably continue throughout the weekend.

Route 279: Services in the Killorglin area remain disrupted in particular on the Tralee to Killorglin Road.

All other services are operating as normal at present without any significant delays.

All Schools are closed until Wednesday, pending review on Tuesday.

Both Tralee and Killarney Stations have been extensively gritted today and both stations will continue to be monitored.

Conditions on the Tullow /Bunclody stretch are still very bad.
