 Homecoming Cork Football Team (All Ireland Champions)

Road Closures – Monday, 20th September 2010

 

Cork City Council have advised that due to the Homecoming of the Cork Football Team, roads will be closed to traffic as a result.

 

As a result, the following bus diversions will be in place and will come into operation at any moment following instruction from An Garda Siochana.  An Garda Siochana have instructed us not to park buses around Merchants Quay or Bus Station area.  Off service buses should be transferred to Capwell.

 

No. 2 ex Mahon – 15.00 to 22.35:  the No. 2 from Mahon will operate via Albert Road, right via Albert Street, then via De Valera Bridge, Michael Collins Bridge, Penrose Quay, left via Brian Boru Bridge, right onto Merchants Quay and normal route thereafter.

 

No. 2 ex Knocknaheeny – 18.35 to 22.30:  Buses should operate as per normal day time route i.e. via Merchants Quay and Parnell Place to Mahon.

 

No.3 Northbound – 18.00 to 22.30:  

203CD9 18.10 ex Farranree should operate via Leitrim St., McCurtain St. to Merchants Quay and changeover with 203CD11

203CD11 should take over bus at 18.30 at Merchants Quay and operate shuttle service to Farranree, returning via Leitrim St., McCurtain St. until 22.50, and then service should return to normal operation. 

203CD10 18.30 ex Farranree should operate via Leitrim St., McCurtain St. to Merchants Quay and 19.00 ex Merchants Quay to Farranree and 19.25 Farranree to Merchants Quay via Leitrim St., McCurtain St. and handover bus to 203CD8. 

203CD8 19.45 Merchants Quay to Farranree and 20.10 ex Farranree should operate via Leitrim St., McCurtain St. and 20.25 Merchants Quay to Farranree, 20.50 Farranree to Merchants Quay, 21.15 Merchants Quay to Farranree, 21.40 Farranree to Merchants Quay, 21.55 Merchants Quay to Farranree, 22.20 ex Farranree to Patrick’s St. and 22.50 ex Patrick’s St. to Farranree and normal route thereafter.

 

No.3 Southbound – 18.00 to 22.30: 

203CD6 18.35 ex Ballyphehane to South Terrace should operate via Cotters St. to Anglesea St. (opposite Market Bar)  - operate shuttle service to/from Ballyphehane until 19.40 and handover bus to 203CD9 at Market Bar.

203CD7 operate as normal until 17.55 and then operate shuttle service to/from Ballyphehane until 20.50 and then changeover with 203CD10 at Market Bar. 

203CD9 take over bus at Market Bar at 19.40 and operate shuttle service to/from Ballyphehane until 22.40 and then operate as normal from Patricks St.

203CD10 take over bus at 20.50 at Market Bar and operate shuttle service to/from Ballyphehane until 22.30 and then operate as normal from Patrick’s St. 

 

No. 5:  operate normal service.

 

No. 6 -18.00 to 22.30 hours: operate to/from South Terrace, Cotter Street, right to Anglesea Street (terminus opposite Market Bar) and normal outbound service thereafter.

 

No. 7 (Southside to Northside) – 18.00 to 22.30 hours:  Operate normal service until 18.00 hours.  Then operate from Southside to Northside via South Terrace, Cotters St., Old Station Road, De Valera Bridge, Michael Collins Bridge to Merchants Quay and then via McCurtain St. and normal route thereafter.                                                                                                                                  

 

 

No. 7 (Northside to Southside) – 18.00 to 22.30 hours: Operate normal service to Bus Station (BAY 10 (Terminus)).  Then operate via rear of Parnell Place to Lower Oliver Plunkett St. to De Valera Bridge, via Old Station Road and normal route thereafter.

 

No. 8 ex Bishopstown:  Operate as normal

 

No. 8 ex Lotabeg Southbound: Operate as normal

 

No. 10 to Glasheen: (Including Duty 210CD6, 210CD8) After 18.00 hours will operate to and from South Main Street, right hand turn permitted from Washington Street onto South Main Street.  210CD8 take bus to Depot and collect bus after break from Depot and operate shuttle service to/from South Main Street/Glasheen.

 

No. 10 to Mahon Point: (Including 210CD7, 210CD5) After 18.00 hours will operate to and from Anglesea St. (terminus opposite Market Bar), and normal outbound route thereafter.

210CD5 should take bus back to Depot on completion of duty.

 

No. 14 Inbound: After 18.00 hours should operate via St. Patrick’s Street, Camden Quay, Christy Ring Bridge, Lavitts Quay, right into St. Patrick’s Street.

 

No. 14 Outbound: After 18.00 hours will operate via normal outbound route.

 

No.16 – 18.00 to 20.00 hours:  Operate to/from Anglesea St. (opposite Market Bar) to Mount Oval.

 

Route 222 after 18.30 hours: - the 19.00, 19.30, and 20.15 services will operate from Bus Station via Lower Oliver Plunkett St., De Valera Bridge, Old Station Road and normal route thereafter.

 

Route 223 after 18.30 hours: - the 19.30 service will operate from Bus Station via Lower Oliver Plunkett St., De Valera Bridge, Old Station Road and normal route thereafter.

 

Route 226 after 18.30 hours: - services will operate from Bus Station via Lower Oliver Plunkett St., De Valera Bridge, Old Station Road and normal route thereafter.

 

Route 249 after 18.30 hours: - the 19.00 hours to Kinsale will operate from Bus Station via Lower Oliver Plunkett St., De Valera Bridge, Old Station Road and normal route thereafter.

 ALL OTHER SERVICES WILL OPERATE AS NORMAL WITH SOME DELAYS
