Newly Improved Route 226 Bus Service to Cork Airport

On and from Sunday 29th May, Bus Éireann will provide a higher frequency bus service to Cork Airport (Route 226).

 

This service will operate to / from Cork Airport via the South Link Road and will also be extended to serve Kent Railway Station.

 

The route will be as follows: Kent Station / Bus Station / Anglesea St (City Hall) / South Link Road to Bull McCabes / Farmers Cross / Cork Airport Business Park / Cork Airport Terminal.

 

Customers who previously boarded the 226 service at Capwell or Turners Cross going to the Business Park will now have the following options:

 

1.    Board the 226 service at Kent Station, Bus Station, Anglesea St. (City Hall)

2.    The 249 (Cork Bus Station to Cork Airport/Kinsale) will continue to operate via Capwell/Turners Cross, the following 249 departures will continue to serve Cork Airport Business Park, Monday to Friday, 0640, 0720, 0800, 0840 departures from Bus Station

3.    The 0540, 226 departure from Bus Station (only) will continue to operate from the Bus Station via Capwell/Turners Cross to Cork Airport Business Park / Airport Terminal

 

This new improved service will provide 49 daily services (Routes 226 and 249) between Cork City and Cork Airport, and the new times will give customers a wider choice of services which will connect the 3 main Transport Hubs in Cork, (Bus Station, Train Station and Cork Airport). 

 

The changes to Route 226 were sanctioned by the National Transport Authority (NTA).
