Improvements to Galway City Routes 404 & 407 – effective 3 March 2013

Bus Éireann is pleased to advise customers of improvements to Routes 404 and 407 effective from Sunday 3 March 2013.

These improvements follow customer feedback and increased customer demand for the services. The service improvements have been approved by the National Transport Authority.

Route 404: Eyre Square - Newcastle

An additional two stops will be introduced on the southern section of the Thomas Hynes Road on all outbound Route 404 services. This will improve accessibility for residents in the Corrib Park and Ardilaun Road areas.

Route 407:  Eyre Square – Bóthar an Chóiste

Following changes to the road layout at the junction of Tirellan Heights and Headford Road, all inbound journeys on Route 407 will now operate anti-clockwise around Tirellan Heights. New bus stops have been installed for accessing services towards the city.

Route 407 will additionally benefit from an increased daytime frequency on Mondays to Saturdays of a bus every 30 minutes rather than the current 40 minute frequency. Evening and Sunday services will continue to operate hourly.
