Alterations to services in the Cork Region due to the St Patrick's Day Festivities

Bus Éireann wishes to advise customers of alterations to services in the Cork Region due to the St. Patrick’s Day festivities

Ballincollig

Main Street will be closed from 1300 to 1700 approximately.  As a result the following services will operate:

Outbound from Cork:
Services will operate as normal to the Powdermills, turning left onto the Link Road, then right onto the Kilumney Road and turn right down Barry’s Road to the White Horse and normal service thereafter.

Inbound to Cork:
Services will operate as normal to Muskerry, turning left onto Old Fort Road (behind barracks).  Normal service as far as Sheares Street.

Bandon

Between 1430 and 1600 approximately, services should operate as follows:

Outbound services from Cork to West Cork will operate to Kellehers (Bandon) turning at Kellehers and then operate via the by-pass.

Inbound services to Cork will operate via the by-pass to Kellehers.  turning at Kellehers for Cork.

Blarney

Blarney Village will be closed from 1430 to 1630 approximately.

As a result services inbound and outbound will operate via the By-Pass (behind the Church).  Temporary bus stops will be in place for passengers to board/alight services during this closure.

Carrigaline

The  St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Carrigaline from 12.00 to 15.00 approximately.

Outbound services will operate normal as far as the roundabout, turning  left onto Church road, Old Waterpark Road, right onto An tStraid Mor and left to re-join the Cork Rd, normal route thereafter.

Inbound services will operate normal as far as the junction of the Cork Road/An tStraid Mor, right onto An tStraid Mor, left onto Old Waterpark Road, left onto Church Road to roundabout and normal route thereafter.

Passengers are requested to board services on the Cork side of the roundabout 

Carrigtwohill

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Carrigtwohill from 13.15 to 14.15 hours.

Outbound services are unaffected

Inbound service the 13.35 service from Ballinacurra will be unable to serve Carrigtwohill during this closure.

Fermoy

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fermoy will take place from 10.30 to 13.00 approximately.

Temporary bus stops will be in place by Abbeyville Guesthouse for intending passengers to board/alight services

Kinsale

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place from 15.30 to 17.30 approximately.

As a result the main stops in Kinsale will be closed to facilitate the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Services to/from Kinsale will drop off, turn and pick up at the old Supervalue.

Macroom

Taffic will not allowed through the Main Street from 15.30 to 17.30 approximately.

As a result the following services will operate:

Inbound Expressway services
The 13.50 & 15.50 services departing Tralee/Ballyvourney/Macroom/Cork will operate the following route – turn left off New Street before the bridge and operate via Masseytown and Coolyhane (By-Pass), proceeding to eastern end of town and re-joining main road to Coachford Junction.

Outbound Expressway service
The 15.30 & 16.30 services departing Cork/Macroom/Ballyvourney/Tralee will turn right before Macroom Town at Coachford Junction and proceed via Coolyhane (By-Pass) and Masseytown, turning right after passing O’Riada’s Bar onto New Street and normal route thereafter.

Passengers wishing to board/alight services in Macroom in either direction will be facilitated to Centra/Kellehers on New Street or at Coachford Junction.

Midleton

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Midleton will take place between 14.00 to 17.00 approximately.

As a result all Bus Eireann services will operate via Riverside Way.

Youghal

Main Street will be closed from 15.00 to 16.30.

Outbound passenger may board buses at Summerfield Cross, Cork Hill or end of Cork Hill.

Passengers travelling from Youghal to Cork may board buses at Aherne’s end of Cork Hill and at Summerfield Cross.
