2,000 children to take part in Aldi Community Games National Athletics Track and Field Finals 13 August 2022

2,000 children from all over Ireland will travel to SETU Carlow Sports Complex this weekend to take part in the first of the National Aldi Community Games events. Children aged between six and sixteen will be  competing in the National Athletics Track and Field Finals with 28 different track events and 14 field events starting from 9am until 7pm.  Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company is very proud to be the National Travel Partner of Community Games and will have employees on site to meet and greet athletes, family and friends this Saturday, 13 of August at SETU Carlow Sports Complex.

Athletic Ambassadors will be at the events including Sarah Quinn, Jesse Osas and Adeyemi Talabi as guests on the day and they will be onsite chatting and presenting medals to the children.  The Athletic Ambassadors will also be commentating on the races on the day and people can tune in from around the world via live-streaming on YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/c/CommunityGames1

Aldi Community Games was established in 1967 to provide the opportunity for young people to use their leisure time in a healthy and productive way and that mission is as relevant today. The National Cultural and Arts Finals will take place on the 27 and 28 of August at the Visual Art Theatre and St Patrick’s College in Carlow.
