Bus Éireann staff to play their part on Special Olympics Ireland Collection Day

Bus Éireann is pleased to announce its involvement in Special Olympics Ireland’s annual Collection Day.

The collection day, which is the biggest annual fundraising event in the Special Olympics fundraising calendar, will take place in towns and cities throughout the country on Friday, 11 April 2014.

Bus Éireann staff at 12 bus stations across the country will help raise essential funds, which will help Special Olympics Ireland continue to grow its programme of sports training and competition so that every person with an intellectual disability has the opportunity to be involved.

Matt English, CEO Special Olympics Ireland said “We are delighted that Bus Eireann is again supporting our Collection Day on 11 April.  It is our biggest fundraising event each year.  Every donation we receive on Collection Day will help us to continue to change the lives of people with an intellectual disability throughout Ireland as well as support the 1,500 athletes participating at the Special Olympics Ireland Games in Limerick this June. With the support of companies such as Bus Eireann, we can all give our athletes a winning chance to participate in sport in their local community.”
