Switching on of Christmas Lights, Cork City

Cork City Council have advised that in order to facilitate the switching on of the Christmas lights, St. Patrick Street will be closed to all traffic between 12.00 and 22.00 on Sunday, 19 November 2017.

As a result, the following route diversions will apply:

Route 202 to Knocknaheeny:  Unaffected

Route 202 to Mahon:  Unaffected

Route 203 to Farranree:  Unaffected

Route 203 to Ballyphehane, 12:00 – 22:00:  Services will operate from Northside to Merchants Quay (Terminus will be at Merchants Quay Riverside for the duration of the closure) then via Clontarf Street to City Hall and normal route thereafter.

Route 205 to CIT, 12:00 – 22:00:  Services will operate from Kent Station to Parnell Place, Lavitts Quay then via Grattan Street to Washington Street and normal route thereafter.  

Route 205 Inbound services, 12:00 – 22:00: Services will operate from C.I.T. via Grand Parade, South Mall (206 bus stop), Lower Oliver Plunkett Street, Custom House Street and Ship Street to Kent Station.

Route 206 to Grange:  Unaffected

Route 206 from Grange:  Unaffected

Route 207 to Ballyvolane, 12:00 – 22:00:  Services will operate via South Mall, serving 206 stop if required, onto Parnell Place, Merchants Quay, Bridge Street where temporary bus stop will be in place, to McCurtain Street, Summerhill North and normal outbound route thereafter.

Route 207 to Donnybrook, 12:00 – 22:00:  Buses should operate from Summerhill North via Clontarf Street to Anglesea Street.  Normal outbound route to Donnybrook thereafter. A temporary stop will be in place adjacent to Parnell Place to facilitate passengers.

Route 208 to Mayfield 12:00 – 22:00: Buses from Bishopstown/Curraheen will operate as normal to Dyke Parade, turning left to Prospect Row, Kyrl’s Quay, Lavitts Quay and left onto St. Patricks Bridge serving temporary bus stop on Bridge Street (terminus) and normal route thereafter.

Route 208 to Bishopstown, 12:00 – 22:00: Services will operate from Parnell Place via Lavitts Quay, Grattan Street to Washington Street and normal route thereafter.

Route 214 from CUH, 12:00 – 22:00:  Services will operate as normal as far as South Mall.  Buses should pick up/drop passengers at the 206 Bus Shelter on South Mall for the duration of the road closure.

Route 214 to CUH, 12:00 – 22:00:  Services will depart from the 206 Bus Shelter, South Mall and operate via Parnell Place Bridge, Anglesea Street, Copley Street to Georges Quay and Parliament Bridge onto Grand Parade, Washington Street and normal route thereafter.

Route 215 to Mahon, 12:00 – 22:00:  Services will operate via Merchants Quay Riverside (Terminus), then via Clontarf Street to Anglesea Street and normal route thereafter.

Route 215 to Blarney/Cloghroe:  Unaffected.

Route 216 to Mount Oval: Unaffected.

Route 216 from Mount Oval:  Unaffected

Route 220: Unaffected

Route 223: Unaffected

Services to Macroom/West Cork: Services will operate from Bus Station via Merchants Quay, Lavitts Quay, Grattan Street to Washington Street to Provincial Stop and normal outbound route thereafter.

Services to Tralee:  Services will operate from Bus Station via Clontarf Street, Clontarf Bridge, McSwiney Quay, Anglesea Street, South Terrace, Georges Quay, Sullivans Quay and Frenches Quay, right to Sharman Crawford Street; left onto St. Finbarr’s Bridge and normal route thereafter.
