Go Racing & Get Even Closer to the Race Course with Bus Éireann

Anyone travelling to the Galway Races this year will be delighted to know that Bus Éireann is providing a Special Shuttle Service to and from the races throughout the festival to help make the experience as hassle-free as possible.

The convenient service, which operates to and from Eyre Square to Ballybrit Racecourse, starts on Monday, 29 July and operates through to Sunday, 4 August.

Buses will depart as required from Eyre Square West from 15:00 on Monday, 29 July, Tuesday, 30 July and Friday, 2 August and will return after the races. The last service will depart the racecourse at approximately 21.30.

On Wednesday 31 July, Thursday 1 August, Saturday 3 August and Sunday 4 August buses will depart from Eyre Square West from 11.00 as required and will return after the races. The last service will depart the racecourse at approximately 20.30.

This year, Bus Éireann are bringing racegoers even closer to the race course as all buses will be going through the tunnel entrance, dropping customers off within 50 yards of the fun and excitement.

Adult tickets for the Bus Éireann Special Shuttle Service are priced at €6 single and €9 return. Tickets for children are priced at €3 single and €5 return. No reservations are necessary.

All services will operate non-stop between Eyre Square and Ballybrit Racecourse.

Customers should be aware that all city services will operate as normal during the Racing festival with the exception of Routes 403 and 409, which will terminate at Briarhill Junction on the following dates/times:

Between 15.00 and 17.00 on 29 and 30 July
Between 12.30 and 16.00 on 31 July
Between 11.30 and 15.30 on 1 August
Between 16.00 and 18.00 on 2 August

On 31 and 1 August the 17:45 ex Galway will be deferred to 18:00. The 16:25 Galway to Longford service will be deferred to depart at 17:15.
