Bus Éireann encourages passengers to take the bus to explore the Wild Atlantic Way in the South

Bus Éireann Ireland’s national bus company, is encouraging customers to take the bus when travelling the Wild Atlantic Way over the summer. 

“With the summer holiday season in full swing we would like to encourage our passengers to take some of the stress out of their holiday plans,” said Aled Williams, Bus Éireann, Senior Operations Manager, South. “Travelling by bus to the Wild Atlantic Way is the ideal way to spend your journey, passengers can sit back and relax in comfort, with no need to worry about fuel costs or parking. Our services are frequent, with Intercity connections linking passengers to West Cork and Kerry seven days a week. More people than ever are using our services, passenger numbers nationally are 20-30% higher than they were in 2019, we look forward to connecting our customers to the Wild Atlantic Way and beyond.”

"Fáilte Ireland is pleased to team up with Expressway as part of its Keep Discovering domestic campaign to highlight the accessibility and connectivity of travel to the Wild Atlantic Way through the Expressway network," said Josephine O'Driscoll, Wild Atlantic Way Manager, Fáilte Ireland. "The images of the Wild Atlantic Way on this Expressway Route will remind people of the opportunities there are to enjoy coach travel to access great locations and discover the joy of holidaying at home. Fáilte Ireland’s Keep Discovering campaign is live across the year, showcasing destinations throughout Ireland." 

The TFI Go app allows Bus Éireann PSO passengers to buy tickets directly from your phone, your ticket is downloaded to the app and can be used to travel straight away. There is no need for printing, just activate before each journey and show your driver while boarding. When using a TFI Leap Card on Bus Éireann PSO services, customers can get a 30% discount on single adult fares. Expressway Intercity services currently offer a 33% early bird discount for online ticket purchases made at least seven days in advance of travel (limited availability).  By booking tickets online customers benefit from guaranteed seats, priority boarding and will also be informed by email in advance in the event of any changes to their selected service.   For more information log on to www.expressway.ie/routes-and-timetables
