Bus bays at upgraded Colbert Station, Limerick

Bus Éireann is pleased to announce that Colbert Station Limerick will re-open to bus passengers (only) from the morning of 11 January 2024.

First services will commence at 5.05am and customers can find all timetable information on our website – buseirean.ie. Passengers will find helpful signage and designated Bus Éireann staff on site to direct and assist them with any queries.

Colbert Station passengers will benefit from a range of enhanced modern facilities including a spacious covered waiting area with 20 bus bays and digital route information screens.

This initial re-opening represents the first phase of the Colbert Transport Interchange, a project involving Bus Éireann and Irish Rail, funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA). Works remain ongoing at some parts of the station with a full re-opening of the station, to both rail and bus passengers, expected in the coming months.

Bus Éireann is also delighted to share that our Limerick City Electrification project is progressing as planned. This project will see our Limerick fleet converted to fully electric vehicles and will be Irelands first fully electric city service. We look forward to publishing further information on this project in the coming weeks.
