T&C's for Bus Éireann School Safety Campaign

Terms and Conditions for Bus Éireann School Safety Competition (the “Terms and Conditions”):

  1. This Bus Éireann competition is only open to primary school children, resident in the Republic of Ireland.
  2. The promoter of this competition is: Bus Éireann-Irish Bus, Broadstone, Dublin 7 (Company Registration No 119570) (“Bus Éireann”)
  3. Employees and contractors of Bus Éireann and their respective agents, representatives and immediate family members are excluded from participating in the competition. For these purposes “immediate family members” include a spouse, partner, child, step child, grandchild, brother, step brother, sister, step sister, parent, step parent or legal guardian.
  4. To enter the competition, children must create their own original Beltup, complete the form and give their entry to their class teacher.  Teachers must then collate all entries on behalf of the Primary School and send to Bus Éireann Beltup Competition, PO Box 12680, Dublin 4 before 29th January 2016 (the “Closing Date”).
  5. Alternatively, entries may be submitted by email to beltupcomp@buseireann.ie
  6. There is no limit to the number of times a primary schoolchild may enter.
  7. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be included in the competition. Incomplete entries and entries from third party agents or bulk entries will not be eligible for the competition. Bus Éireann will not be responsible for any entries that are not received for any reason by the Closing Date, whether lost, delayed, corrupted or otherwise, and whether or not due to any technical difficulties or malfunctions.
  8. Bus Éireann accepts no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to this competition, including, but not limited to, incomplete, corrupt or incorrect entries or for any malfunctions, errors or viruses in the software that has been designed to maintain entrants’ details, or for any incompatibility with all, or any, hardware and/or software that entrants may use. Bus Éireann does not guarantee that the website will be available at all times or at any specific time. Proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  9. Details of how to enter form part of these Terms and Conditions.
  10. An independent adjudicator will review all entries.  The most creative and unique entries will be selected to represent each Primary School.  1 Primary School in each of the 5 regions (East, North West, West, South West & South) will then be selected as prize-winners.  The adjudicators decision is final.
  11. 5 primary school prize winners will win:

-          Up to 35 standard entry passes to Tayto Park, Kilbrew, Ashbourne, Co. Meath (€14 per person)

-          Return transfers by Bus Éireann between primary school and Tayto Park

  1. The prize must be taken as offered and there is no cash or other alternative to the prize. Should the selected winner be unable or unwilling to fulfill these criteria, he or she will forfeit the prize.
  2. The prize is non-transferable.
  3. The prize may change at any time without notification and is subject to availability.
  4. Any expenses incurred by the winners with regard the general use and/or enjoyment of the prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner and their guests.
  5. Bus Éireann reserves the right at its sole discretion to alter or substitute the prize with any items of equal or greater value for any reason and without notification.
  6. All respective Tayto Park terms and conditions apply.
  7. A Bus Éireann Representative will notify prize winners before the 19th February 2016. 
  8. The winner will be notified phone, and must confirm receipt of notification within six (6) working days. Failure to confirm receipt of notification within the stated time will result in disqualification and another prizewinner being selected.
  9. The winning primary schools’ name and county may be published on various sources at the discretion of Bus Éireann. The winners may be required to supply a photograph for publication and/or take part in further reasonable promotional activities.
  10. Prizes must be redeemed by 30th June 2016.
  11. The winners’ details, including primary school name, and county may be obtained by sending a signed handwritten request along with a stamped self-addressed envelope detailing your request to the Marketing Team, Bus Éireann, Broadstone, Dublin 7, Ireland. Bus Éireann will not enter into any other correspondence concerning the competition and its result.
  12. By entering the competition entrants agree to accept and be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by all decisions of Bus Éireann. Entrants’ personal data will be used in accordance with the CIE Privacy Statement at http://www.cie.ie/privacy-policy which is hereby incorporated into and forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
  13. Bus Éireann reserves the right to amend or withdraw the competition in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside its reasonable control.
  14. Bus Éireann reserves the right to terminate or temporarily suspend this competition in the event of technical or other difficulties that might compromise its integrity.
  15. The competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by Irish law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
  16. Any disclaimer of liability by Bus Éireann under these Terms and Conditions is enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Each of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions is severable and if any such provision is held by any court or other competent authority to be illegal, void or unenforceable in whole or in part, the legality, validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall not be affected or impaired.
