Becoming a School Transport Provider

Bus Éireann are continuously seeking additional vehicles with available drivers (the “Additional Resources”) for the provision of services under the Primary, Post Primary and Special Needs National School Transport Scheme (the “Services”).

To be invited to the School Transport tender process operators must first qualify onto a Bus Eireann School Transport Procurement panel. Once successfully registered on the panel, you will then be invited to tender.

If you wish to submit an application to join the panel which expires in 2027, it is advisable to register on the Governments electronic tendering platform to or you can email Beschooltenders@buseireann.ie seeking a link to register to the Coupa Supplier Portal which is the software platform used by Bus Eireann School Transport Procurement for communication on tendering.

Interested operators should note:

  • Operators already on the School Transport Services Qualification Panel 2022 to 2027 do not need to re-apply in order to be considered, unless the operator wishes to be considered for a County (or Counties) or vehicle category (or categories) in addition to those for which the operator has already qualified. (If a new application is submitted it will overwrite your existing application).
  • Garda vetting is mandatory for all personnel performing transport services under school transport contracts with Bus Éireann.
  • All vehicles must be fitted with seat belts, be less than 20 years old and must meet all statutory requirements
