Danny McCarthy

Chief Information Officer

Danny McCarthy was appointed Chief Information Officer in October 2022 and is responsible for information systems, digital transformation and leading Bus Éireann’s enterprise wide digital strategy.

Danny joined Bus Éireann in 2003 and has held a number of senior positions over this period with his previous role being Head of IT and Business Transformation. With almost 20 years’ experience in public transport, Danny has significant experience leading the implementation of new technology, delivering transformation projects and leading change initiatives. Earlier in his career, Danny held a number of technology roles with Citibank and Kindle Banking Systems.

Danny holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Limerick, a post graduate diploma in Software Localisation from the University of Limerick and a Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the Irish Management Institute.
