Update to Bus Éireann Driving Age Policy

Bus Éireann has announced an extension to the upper age limit of drivers of small public service vehicles (max 8 seats and driver) contracted by Bus Éireann under the School Transport Scheme, from age 70 to 72, for a trial period.

Bus Éireann has today notified the National Transport Authority (NTA) and customers that from Sunday 24 May 2026, three Expressway services will be withdrawn

Wheeling Through the Years

Bus Éireann is currently undertaking an Oral History Project in association with Ireland’s leading oral historians, Mac Conmara Heritage Consulting.
