Bus Éireann to Run Great Value Day Trips to Trim Swift Festival

Bus Éireann is to run great value trips from Dublin and Drogheda to Trim for the Trim Swift Festival, which runs from 1 July to 4 July 2010.

Bus Éireann will run a number of day trips, including late night return services, on each day of the Festival enabling students, adults and families to enjoy the lively discussions, lectures, satire and entertainment celebrating the life, works and legacy of Jonathan Swift and his close connections with the town of Trim.

There will also be a day tour from Dublin to the Japanese Gardens, National Stud and Trim Castle.

The Festival will include a round-table discussion with former UK Labour Party advisor Alastair Campbell, a sports debate with personalities such as George Hook, Brent Pope and Colm O’Rourke, a comedy night with 2FM’s Nob Nation, as well as a street market, and an evening of entertainment with dramatic performances, readings, music and song.

Bus Éireann will operate a range of services to and from Trim during the Festival. These include the regular Dublin-Trim (111) and Drogheda/Duleek/Slane/Navan/Trim (118) services.

Special late night services for Festival goers who wish to return to Dublin every evening will also be available. These will operate from Trim on Thursday, July 1st at 22.30, on Friday night/Saturday morning, July 2nd/3rd at 1am, and on Saturday night/Sunday morning July 3rd/July 4th at 00.30.

Day trip tickets for Bus Éireann services to and from Trim are available from €10 for adult with family tickets costing just €20.

Bus Éireann will also operate a day tour to the Japanese Gardens, National Stud and Trim Castle, each Saturday, from 26th June to 24th July inclusive. The tour departs Busaras at 10.30am and returns at approx. 5.30pm. Admission charges to Japanese Gardens/National Stud and Trim Castle self-guided tour are included in the tour price.

The tour costs €35 for adults, OAP/Senior €32.00 and Child €25.00. Customers availing of the tour on Saturday 3rd July have the option to stay in Trim for the Trim Swift Festival and use their bus ticket to return on a later service.
