Disruptions to Bus Éireann services due to Storm Eunice

School Transport

The Department of Education is advising that all schools in counties where status red wind warnings are in place and in counties where status orange snow warnings are in place should not open on Friday 18 February.

School transport services in Counties Cork, Kerry, Clare, Waterford, Donegal, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon will therefore be suspended for the full day on Friday 18 February.

Expressway, City, Town, Commuter and Rural Services

We are pleased to advise customers that services in Waterford, Kerry, Cork and Clare have resumed, however, a small amount of cancellations remain in place - see below for a full list of cancelled services.

The decision to cancel services is taken in the interests of our customers and employees, following careful consideration of the advice of agencies coordinating a response to Storm Eunice.


The following services have been cancelled:

Route 4

  • 13:05 Dublin Airport to Waterford
  • 15:05 Dublin Airport to Waterford

Route X4

  • 14:00 Dublin Airport to New Ross

Route 40

  • 13:40 Cork to Waterford
  • 14:40 Cork to Waterford

Waterford Services

The following services have been cancelled:

Route 73

  • 15:00 Athlone to Waterford


Routes 304, 304A and 323

Services are unable to serve UL campus until 13:00 today due to the closure of the Flagpoles Entrance to the campus.  


  • 15:34 Sligo to Ballina              
  • 18:20 Ballina to Enniskillen
  • 22:10 Enniskillen to Sligo


Route 220

Due to a fallen tree at Maryborough Hill, near Johnstown house, Route 220 cannot currently operate via Maryborough Hill.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will endeavour to recommence services earlier should the red weather warning be lifted earlier than expected. We will be advising customers of any further updates on www.buseireann.ie/StormEunice and on our social media channels and local and regional media will receive any updates.
