St. Patrick's Day - Service diversions

The following Routes will be affected by diversions due to local St. Patrick’s Day parades.

Expressway Services

Route 13             

In Adare, The 15:35 service from Limerick (scheduled to serve Adare at 15:55) will be unable to serve Adare.  This service will divert between Patrickswell and Croagh. 

The 13:00 from Tralee (scheduled to serve Adare at 14:40) will be unable to serve Adare.  This service will divert between Croagh and Patrickswell. 

Route 14

The 14:35 from Limerick (scheduled to serve Adare at 14:55) will be unable to serve Adare.  This service will divert between Patrickswell and Croagh. 

The 14:00 from Killarney (scheduled to serve Adare at 15:40) will be unable to serve Adare.  This service will divert between Croagh and Patrickswell.  

Route 22, Dublin/Ballina

  • Due to closure of O’Connell Street/Bridge, services to/from Dublin will divert via M50 and Port Tunnel up to 17:00. During this time, services will terminate and commence in Busaras.
  • Hueston Station will not be served
  • 10am service from Dublin will not serve Maynooth
  • Due to the Parade in Swinford taking place between 15:00 and 16:30, the 15:30 service from Ballina (scheduled to serve Swinford at 16:00) will operate to/from a temporary bus stop outside The Corrib Service Station as it will not be possible to access the bus stop at O'Connors Hotel on Main Street.

Route 23, Dublin/Sligo

  • Due to closure of O’Connell Street/Bridge, services to/from Dublin will divert via M50 and Port Tunnel up to 17:00. During this time, services will terminate and commence in Busaras
  • Hueston Station will not be served
  • 11am service from Dublin will not serve Maynooth

Route 30/X30

In Donegal, the 16:00 service from Donegal Town will operate from a temporary stop at the roundabout near Lidl. The 11:00 and 12:30 from Dublin (scheduled to arrive in Donegal Town at 14:35 and 16:30 respectively) will operate to a temporary stop at the roundabout near Lidl.

Route 32, Dublin/Letterkenny

  • Due to closure of O’Connell Street/Bridge, services to/from Dublin will divert via M50 and Port Tunnel up to 17:00. During this time, services will terminate and commence in Busaras.
  • The 14:45 from Dublin will bypass Ardee
  • In Monaghan, the parade takes place from 14:30 to 16:30.  Any affected services will divert via bypass and serve Monaghan Station

Route 51

Due to the Parade in Gort taking place between 13:00 and 14:30, services from Galway, the 13:05 service from Galway to Cork (13:45 from Gort) will board/alight passengers on the R458 prior to the roundabout on approach to Gort.  The service will then join the M18 motorway at junction 16 and bypass Gort and Crusheen. The 12:25 service from Limerick to Galway (13.55 from Gort) will bypass Crusheen and Gort, then exit the M18 motorway at junction 16.  This service will board alight passengers on the R458 after exiting roundabout on old Galway road.

Route 64

The 13:30 and 15:00 services from Sligo (scheduled to serve Donegal Town at 14:37 and 16:07 respectively) will operate to/from a temporary stop at the roundabout in Donegal near Lidl.

Commuter/Local Services

Eastern Region

Route 100X, Dundalk to Dublin

  • Services will terminate at George's Quay and commence from Beresford Place until 5pm.

Route 101, Drogheda to Dublin

  • Services to Dublin will be diverted via Gardiner St until 5pm.
  • In Balbriggan, between 1pm and 4pm, services will be diverted via Harry Reynolds Road from Balbriggan Garda Station to Re-join route at St Peter and Pauls Church roundabout

Route 103, Dublin to Ratoath

  • Services to Dublin will be diverted via Withworth Road and Gardiner St until 5pm.
  • In Rathoath, between 12pm and 3pm services will serve Ashbourne as normal, Ballybin Road, left at Ballybin Roundabout, follow the avenue around to Tesco Roundabout. Drop off at Tesco, turn around the roundabout at commence from Opposite Tesco. (Temporary Stop).

Route 105, Blanchardstown Hospital to Ratoath

  • In Rathoath, between 12pm and 3pm services will serve Ashbourne as normal, Ballybin Road, left at Ballybin Roundabout, follow the avenue around to Tesco Roundabout. Drop off at Tesco, turn around the roundabout at commence from Opposite Tesco. (Temporary Stop).

Route 108, Baileboro to Oldcastle/Kells

  • Parade in Mullagh from 17:00, services to divert via Whitegate

Route 109, Dublin to Kells

  • Services to Dublin will continue along the North Cirulcar Road and then turn right onto Dorset Street and left on to Gardiner St until 5pm.
  • Kells
    Parade at 3pm, Road closure between 14:00 and 16:30
    Kells will not be served during this period and affected services from Cavan/Kells Business Park will divert via the N52, M3 and re-join the R147 at Junction 10 (Kells South)
    Services from Dublin will serve Kilmainham and the M3 rather than entering Kells and and re-join route at Kells Business park

Route 109A, Dublin to Navan/Kells

  • The 109A will not serve Ratoath Supervalu between 12 and 3.
  • Kells
    Parade at 3pm, Road closure between 14:00 and 16:30
    Kells will not be served during this period and affected services from Cavan/Kells Business Park will divert via the N52, M3 and re-join the R147 at Junction 10 (Kells South)
    Services from Dublin will serve Kilmainham and the M3 rather than entering Kells and and re-join route at Kells Business park

Route 109B, Dublin to Trim

  • Services to Dublin will continue along the North Cirulcar Road and then turn right onto Dorset Street and left on to Gardiner St until 5pm.

Route 109B, Dublin to Cavan

  • In Athboy, 11:15 and12:15 services from Dublin will terminate at Fair Green in Athboy (Depot), 12:45 and 13:45 from Athboy will commence from Fair Green

Route 111A, Cavan/Delvin

  • In Athboy, 12:45 from Athboy will commence from Delvin at 12:55

Route 115/115C, Dublin/Mullingar/Enfield/Kilcock

  • Services both to/from Dublin will divert via M50 and Port Tunnel up to 17:00. Last Drop off George’s Quay. First Pick up Connolly Bus Stop
  • Maynooth to be bypassed and the 10.30 service from Dublin will re-join route at J8 Kilcock while the 10:40 service From Mullingar will serve Kilcock then join the M4 at J8
  • Kilcock
    Services will Pick up/Drop off at Musgraves Roundabout and operate via M4.
    12:30 from Dublin to Mullingar will Pick up/Drop off at Musgraves Roundabout and operate via M4.
    12:40 from Mullingar will Pick up/Drop off at Musgraves Roundabout and operate via M4.
    13:30 to Kilcock/14:30 from Kilcock will Pick up/Drop off at Musgraves Roundabout and operate via M4.
    13:10 Mullingar to Kilcock will be unable to enter Kilcock. Turn right at Abbeyfields heading back towards Mullingar
  • In Enfield, 14:30 service from Dublin to Mullingar will operate via M4 after Kilcock (Junc 8) and re-join route after Enfield (Junc 9).  The 14:40 service from Mullingar will operate the M4 at J9 and rejoin the route at J8.
  • In Mullingar, the Mullingar half Marathon will close Patrick st/Austin Friar St from Harbour Rd to Delvin Rd. The only stop on the 08.30 service from Dublin in Mullingar will be the Rail Station.

Route 133, Dublin/Wicklow/Arklow

  • In Dublin due to the closure of  D’Olier St, Wicklow bound services will divert as follows: From North Quays, Cross Liffey Talbot Bridge, turn left onto city quay, turn right on Lombard St East, continue onto Westland Row, and continue route up to 17:00.
  • In Wicklow between14:30 and 18:00, services will pick up/drop off at Wicklow Medical centre and proceed onwards to depot
  • Due to the closure of Custom House Quay Dublin over the weekend, city bound services will divert via Beresford place and back onto the North Quays.
  • In Newtownmountkennedy, all services between 12 and 14:30 all services will stay on the N11

Route 175, Cavan/Monaghan/Cootehill

  • The 12:00 service from Monaghan will terminate at Cavan General Hospital & depart from Cavan General Hospital at 13:05
  • In Monaghan- the 15:15 from Cavan to divert via bypass

Route 182, Monaghan/Drogheda/Ardee

  • In Monaghan, the 16:10 service from Drogheda will divert via bypass and the 16:00 from Monaghan will divert via bypass
  • In Ardee, the 14:10 from Monaghan will divert via ring road
  • In Carrickmacross, services at 14:10, 16:10 (Both) and 18:10 will serve Carrickmacross South Bypass only (route 32 stop).

Route 190, Drogheda/Trim

  • In Slane, the 14:10 and 15:10 services from Trim and the 14:30 and 15:30 services from Drogheda will divert via Duleek, Kentstown, enter Navan at the Kells Road, Pick/drop at the Fire station in Navan, then onto Trim

Route 245X, Dublin/Cork

  • Due to closure of O’Connell Street/Bridge, services to/from Dublin will divert via M50 and Port Tunnel up to 17:00. During this time, services will terminate and commence in Busaras.
  • Hueston Station Not Served

Southern Region

Waterford

Please be advised due to St Patricks Day Parade in Waterford City diversions will be in place across Waterford City between 11:00 and 16:00

Route W1 

Route W1 will operate normal route from Ballybeg to Ballybricken.

First service will depart from Black Ash Park & Ride Site at 09:00, with final service from City Centre at 20:05.  For duration of road closure, Route 213 will operate via Eglington Street

Services to Macroom/West Cork/Tralee (Routes 233; 236; 237; 239; 40

Services will depart from Parnell Place Bus Station, serving Provincial Bus Stop, Washington Street.

 

Ballincollig

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Ballincollig, Main Street will be closed from its junction with Castlepark to its junction with Muskerry Estate, from 13:30 to 17:00.

Outbound services will operate via the Link Road, Barry’s Road and Classis

Inbound services will operate via Muskerry and Old Fort Road

Bandon

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Bandon from 14:00 to 15:30

Customers are requested to board buses at Kelleher’s for duration of Parade

Cahir

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cahir the Main Street will be closed from 11:30 to 14:30

Passengers are requested to board services at garage forecourt (Keatings Garage) opposite the Mart on the old Cork Road.

Carrigtwohill

The Main Street in Carrigtwohill will be closed to traffic from 13:15 to 15:00. As a result the 13.50 service to Cork will be unable to serve Carrigtwohill.

Fermoy

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fermoy will take place 11.00 to 13.00

Customers will be facilitated at Abbeyville Guesthouse to board/alight services for duration of parade.

Macroom

 

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Macroom the Main Street will be closed from 14.30 to 17.00

Passengers wishing to board/alight services will be facilitated at:

•             New Street

•             Coachford Junction

Mallow

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Mallow from 13:00 to 16.00, customers can access services to Limerick prior to the Train Station or can access services to Cork on Cork Road, opposite Roundabout Inn

 

Midleton

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Midleton Main Street will be closed from 13:30 to 16:30

Passengers wishing to board/alight services will be facilitated at Midleton Convent, or at St. Colman’s College to access bus services.

Mitchelstown

Please be advised that Main Street, Mitchelstown will be closed from 13:00 to 14:00

As a result, Route 245X services will operate via Georges Street, inbound and outbound. 

Customers can board Route 245X services at Oisin House, junction of Robert Street & George’s Street, for travel outbound to Dublin and opposite Oisin House for services inbound to Cork.

Youghal

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Youghal Main Street will be closed from 15.00 to 16.00

Passengers should board buses as follows:

  • Services to Waterford: Board bus at Summerfield Cross, Cork Hill or end of Cork Hill
  • Services to Cork: Board bus at Aherne’s end of Cork Hill and Summerfield Cross

Western Region

Galway City   

Route 401

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Dr Mannix Rd to Parkmore will operate from Merchants Rd to a temporary city centre terminus on Fairgreen Rd.  Eyre Square and Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir will not be served during the parade.

Route 402

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Shangort Rd to Merlin Park will operate from UHG to a temporary city centre terminus on Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir.  University Rd, Francis St, Eyre Square, Prospect Hill and Bohermore will not be served during the parade.  Servicse from Merlin Park to Shangord Rd will operate from Dublin Rd to a temporary city centre terminus on Fairgreen Rd.  Bohermore, Eyre Square, Francis St and University Rd will not be served during the parade.

Route 404

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Oranmoreto Westside will operate from Dublin Rd to a temporary city centre terminus on Fairgreen Rd.  College Rd, Eyre Square, Francis St, University Rd and Lower Newcastle will not be served during the parade.  Services from Westside to Oranmore will operate from Upper Newcastle to a temporary city centre terminus on Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir.  Lower Newcastle, University Rd, Francis St and Eyre Square will not be served during the parade.

Route 405

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Gort na Bro to Ballybane Ind Est will operate from Seamus Quirke Rd to a temporary city centre terminus on Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir.  Lower Newcastle, University Rd, Francis St, Eyre Square, Prospect Hill and Bohermore will not be served during the parade.  Services from Ballybane Ind Est to Gort na Bro will operate a temporary city centre terminus on Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir.  Eyre Square, Francis St, University Rd and Lower Newcastle will not be served during the parade.

Route 407

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Eyre Square to Bothar an Choiste services will operate from a temporary city centre terminus on Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir to Headford Rd (Opp Dunnes Stores).  Eyre Square, Francis St, Woodquay and Galway Retail Pk will not be served during the parade. Services from Bothar an Choiste to Eyre Square will operate from Headford Rd (Dunnes Stores) to a temporary city centre terminus on Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir.  Galway Shopping Centre, Woodquay, Francis St and Eyre Square will not be served during the parade.

Route 409

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Eyre Square to Parkmore will operate from a temporary city centre terminus on Fairgreen Rd.  Eyre Square and Bóthar Bhreandain Uí Eithir will not be served during the parade.  Services from Parkmore to Eyre Square will operate from Dublin Rd to a temporary city centre terminus on Fairgreen Rd.  College Rd, Forsters St and Eyre Square will not be served during the parade.

Route 419

Between 10:30 and 13:30, services from Galway to Clifden/Oughterard will operate from Ceannt Station to Bushy Pk.  Francis St, University Rd and Lower/Upper Newcastle will not be served during the parade.  Services from Clifden/Oughterard to Galway will operate from Bushy Pk to Ceannt Station.  Lower Newcastle, University Rd and Francis St will not be served during the parade.

Limerick

Route 301

Between 07:00 and 16:15 services from Father Russell Rd. the 301 service will operate to Colbert Station via Hyde Rd. From Colbert Station it will travel to Future Sound and Vision on Upper William St. It will then operate via Pennywell, Lelia St. and Clare St. to Island Rd. At the junction of Island Rd. and Athlunkard St. it will continue on to Westbury as per regular route.

Services from Westbury the service will operate as normal to the junction of Island Rd. and Athlunkard St. Operating via Island Rd., Clare St., Lelia St. and Pennywell it will proceed via Sexton St. to Colbert Station and on to Father Russell Rd. as per regular route.

Route 302

Between 07:00 and 16:15 the service will operate from the Strand Hotel and via the side of the Maternity Hospital (Bellefield Gardens) to High Street and the normal route after that. For the inbound trip, operate as normal from Caherdavin to Clancy’s Strand, terminating at Strand Hotel.

Route 303

Between 07:00 and 16:15 services from O’Malley Pk. will operate to Future Sound and Vision on Upper William Street. Operating via Pennywell, Lelia St., Clare St. and Island Rd. the service will travel over Thomond Bridge to High St. and on to Moyross and Craeval Pk. as per regular route

From Moyross and Craeval Pk. Route  303 service will operate from High Street over Thomond Bridge to Island Road. Via Clare St., Lelia St., Pennywell and Parnell St. It will then continue on to O’Malley Pk. from The Post Office on Hyde Rd as per regular route.

Route 304

Between 07:00 and 16:15 services from the University of Limerick the 304 service will operate its regular route to Mulgrave St., opposite the Fire Station. It will then operate via Sexton St. to Colbert Station, then travelling via Hyde Rd. to the Crescent Shopping Centre and on to Raheen as per Regular Route. The service from Raheen to Colbert Station via Hyde Rd. From Colbert Station it will travel to Future Sound and Vision on Upper William St. It will then operate from Future Sound and Vision on its regular route to the University of Limerick.

Route 304A

Between 07:00 and 16:15 services from the University of Limerick service will operate its regular route to Hyde Rdthen continue via Hyde Rd and Childers Rd to The Crescent Shopping Centre and on to Raheen as per Regular Route. The 304A service will operate from Raheen to Colbert Station via Hyde Rd. instead of O’Connell Avenue and Barrington St. The remainder of the 304A route will operate as normal.

Route 306

Between 07:00 and 16:15 services will operate from the Strand Hotel to Shelbourne Rd and onto the terminus by the regular route. The return trip will also operate via the normal route using the temporary loading bay opposite the Strand Hotel as a terminus.  Services from Ballynanty will operate from opposite the Strand Hotel it will then operate via Clancy Strand and the Treaty Stone over Thomond Bridge to St Mary’s Park. From St Mary’s Park, the service will operate over Thomond Bridge via the Treaty Stone and Clancy Strand to the Strand Hotel.

Route 343

Between 07:00 and 16:15 services will operate via Ivan’s Shop, Clonmacken Roundabout and Shannon Tunnel. There will be no pick up/drop off between Ivan’s and Bus Station between 07.00 and 16.00.

Services from Ennis will operate via Ivan’s Shop, Clonmacken Roundabout and Shannon Tunnel. There will be no pick up/drop off between Ivan’s and Bus Station between 07.00 and 16.00 hrs.

Sligo

Route S1

Between 11:00 and 13:00, services from Cartron to Cairins Rd will be diverted after serving the bus stop opp. City View from Bridge Street via JFK Parade and Riverside, re-joining the route at Doorly Park. Services from Cairins Rd to Cartron will be diverted after serving Crozon Park via Caltragh Lane, N4 Northbound and Markievicz Road, rejoining the route at Connaughton Road

Route S2

Between 11:00 and 13:00, services from Strandhill to Rosses Point will be diverted after serving Knappagh Road (Bus Station) stop via N4 Northbound and Markievicz Road, rejoining the route at Connaughton Road. Bus stop at Markievicz Road will be outserved during the diversion period.  Services from Rosses Point to Strandhill will be diverted after serving bus stop Opp. City View from Lake Isle Road via Stephen Street, Markievicz Road, N4 Southbound and Lord Edward Street, rejoining the route at Knappagh Road.
