Closure of Merchants Quay, Cork City

Cork City Council have advised that Merchant’s Quay will be closed to traffic from 22.00 on Friday, 17 May 2019 until approximately 18:00 on Saturday, 18 May 2019 to facilitate bridge installation.

As a result, services will operate as follows:

Route 202 inbound from Hollyhill, will operate via Camden Quay; St. Patrick’s Street (Browne Thomas*); Victoria Road and normal Route.

Route 202 inbound from Mahon Point operate via Eglinton Street; St. Patrick’s Street (A-Wear*); Lavitt’s Quay and normal Route.

Route 205 inbound from CIT will operate as normal to St. Patrick’s Street; McCurtain Street; Kent Station; then to City Hall Bus Stop*; South Terrace; George’s Quay; Parliament Bridge; Grand Parade; Washington Street and normal Route.

Route 207 inbound from Ballyvolane will operate via Summerhill North as normal; then to City Hall* and normal route.

Route 207A inbound from Glenheights will operate as normal via Summerhill North; City Hall; St. Patrick’s Street (Drawbridge Street) and normal route.

Route 208 inbound from Ashmount will operate as normal via Summerhill North then via City Hall*; South Terrace; George’s Quay; Parliament Bridge; Grand Parade; Washington Street and normal Route

Route 213 (Park & Ride) will operate from Black Ash via Eglinton Street; City Hall* to Black Ash.

Route 214 inbound will operate as normal as far as Washington St., turn left onto Patrick’s St., cross over Patrick’s Bridge and left onto Camden Quay, left over Christy Ring Bridge, left onto Lavitts Quay and then right onto St. Patrick’s St. and normal route thereafter.

Expressway Route 40 from Tralee & Routes 236; 237; 239; 233 from Parnell Place westbound will operate via Anglesea Street; George’s Quay; Parliament Bridge; South Mall; Grand Parade; Washington Street and normal Routes.

Route 51 inbound will operate via Leitrim Street; Coburg Street; McCurtain Street; right to Brian Boru Street; Brian Boru Bridge to Parnell Place Bus Station.
